We spend a lot of time decorating our homes, but sometimes it's the little things that make the biggest difference, like bathroom light fixtures - and we often have a habit of overlooking them. We make sure that the living room is always spic and span and best looking in the house. This is more so because most of the people visiting our homes usually are restricted in the living room. However, at times we tend to pay less attention towards the lighting of the bathroom. This may be because the light in the bathroom is used for a very small period of time, in fact, only during nights. However, I am not at all recommending you to go through a photography course in order to get the placement of your bathroom light fixtures right and accurate.

It is recommended to place the lights in such a way that you can look at your body in the mirror clearly without the hassle of too many shadows. Many people place the light in such a way that it directly falls on the mirror from the opposite side. They forget that they would be standing right in between the mirror and the light, thereby blocking all the light. This way, they will not be able to see themselves clearly in the mirror.

One of the rules of the placement of bathroom light fixtures is that you should be able to see your chin and forehead in a clear manner. The best place to have your bathroom light is therefore at a height which is exactly equal to the height of your forehead or the average height of the foreheads of the people in your family. We highly recommend you have the light just above the mirror so that you do not interrupt the light in any way.

You can go for the conventional white color bathroom light fixtures or you can even opt for different colors if you want to add some exotic light effects to the bathroom. However, it is recommended that you atleast have one white light as you might not be able to see yourself clearly in a fluorescent or a blue light while you are busy with your makeup.
